The “Dramen der Gegenwart #2<\/a>” festival takes a look at the diversity and qualities of contemporary texts for the stage. There will be 20 theatrical texts presented in a broad range of formats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three commissioned plays\/productions will showcase performative collaborations between playwrights and artists of other genres. An ensemble of playwrights will present a panorama of the contemporary writing for theatre in four staged readings. And a drama parcours will offer insights in new texts for the stage that are still in the making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A poetry impulse will kick off the event with relections on the present dramatic art. The text presentations will be complemented by workshop talks, discursive panels and discussions – e. g. on the age gap in contemporary playwriting or on various paths to authorship. A total of about 45 playwrights and artists will contribute to the festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Sunday, 10 Sept. 2023, 2:30 pm<\/strong>, I will moderate a panel on “paths to authorship” at the Ballhaus Ost in Berlin. The panel guests will be Gerhild Steinbuch, Ak\u0131n Emanuel \u015eipal, Christine Umpfenbach, Roland Schimmelpfennig, and Bj\u00f6rn SC Deigner. I am very much looking forward to it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
