Theatre Horizon Latin America
New plays and playwrights in discussion
An event by Theater- und Mediengesellschaft Lateinamerika e. V. and Drama Panorama: Forum for Translation and Theatre
Theater- und Mediengesellschaft Lateinamerika e. V. and Drama Panorama: Forum for Translation and Theater together approach the question of how theatre transfer between Latin America and Germany functions today and how it will be designed in the future:
How much do these theatrical landscapes know of each other? Do we understand everything that moves the other one? Or is theatre so locally bound that the concept of transfer does not really work? Can subjects, authors and theatremakers simply enter into an exchange, or what are the differences that need to be determined, accepted, overcome? Does the influence of digital media / of the Internet bring theatremakes together across the Atlantic, or is theatre too analogue in its nature to be exchanged through these channels?
In staged readings, we present newest plays in German translation.
