Festival Übersetzen & Weltretten

In September, the Weltlesebühne will present ‘Übersetzen & Weltretten’ (‘Translating & Worldsaving: Inciting Utopia in Dystopian Times’). Together with Hélène Thiérard, I am curating this festival of literary translation.
The programme has recently been announced on the festival website, and I am delighted to draw your attention to this exciting festival, which will happen at several days and feature 20 events across four venues in Berlin. We look forward to welcoming literature enthusiasts, sci-fi fans, publishers, translators, language bffs, bookworms, futurists and anyone interested in learning more about literary translation.
There is also a way to get involved in the festival: under ‘Post from Utopia’, you can submit your favourite utopia or dystopia, with or without a short quote.
The festival is funded primarily by a Berlin Senate Chancellery programme, and supported from the TOLEDO programme; the German Translators’ Fund has also contributed, as have GLS Treuhand and Pro Helvetia.
