after motifs by Friedrich Schiller
Guest performance of Depresivní děti touží po penězích (engl. Depressive Children Longing For Money)
The New Czech Theatre Festival 2023
Festival start – Thursday, 29 June 2023, 6.30 pm
Embassy of the Czech Republic in Berlin, Wilhelmstr. 44, 10117 Berlin
The New Czech Theater Festival presents the Czech-German production Maria Stuart. Schiller’s play is only loosely interpreted here, the fate of two queens at two courts serves as an inspiration, sparking improvisation. Director and performer Jakub Čermák works with German actor Sebastian Rein. Their immersive, conceptual production contains many elements of a site-specific installation.
The performance is kept in simple English and will deliberately not be interpreted or translated.
There will be a talkback with the artists after the show.
Directors: Jakub Čermák, Sebastian Rein
Design: Martina Zwyrtek
Music: Alejandro Bonatto
Admission is free. The venue has limited seating, please book your free tickets through Eventbrite following this link.
